Guidance Counselling Development Association (GCDA)

GCDA: Empowering Communities for Sustainable Development since 1994 Established by the late Dr. Mrs. Hannatu Ibrahim, MFR, the Guidance and Counselling Development Association (GCDA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting quality service delivery that transforms lives. Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria in 2001 (Reg. No. 14,114), we have over two decades of experience in grassroots intervention, built on strong collaborations with national and international partners.

Our deep-rooted relationships with state and local stakeholders empower us to deliver essential services directly to the doorsteps of hard-to-reach communities.

GCDA will provide quality innovative sexual and reproductive health, economic and socio-political developmental services to women, men, youth and children in partnership and collaboration with government and other non-governmental organizations.

Main Objectives

1.    Improve the quality of life for all persons especially youth and women through the provision of sexual and reproductive health/Family Planning information and services.

2.    Enhance access to quality education through advocacy and influencing the provision of educational services to all citizens.

3.    Promote socio-economic and political well-being of communities through support for evidence-based governance where human, financial resources are effectively and efficiently deployed for sustainable development.

4.    Promote a conflict-free society.

5.    Strengthen collaboration with other NGOs and Government in the advancement and promotion of education, good governance and income generation activities for children, youth and women for poverty reduction and sustainable development.
